Hi, All! I am a Human Resources (HR) Coordinator for a luxury lifestyle brand, supporting North American distribution and fulfillment center (DC/FC) populations. Working in retail for nearly twenty years, prior to pivoting to HR, I gained a fundamental understanding of Information Technology, including a basic understanding of data privacy and how it affects employees and their sensitive information, familiarity with human resource information systems (HRIS), applicant tracking systems (ATS), and learning management systems (LMS). The advancement of some and the implementation of other technologies have significantly enhanced workflows and efficiency, while mitigating user error.

Although I was exposed to specific HR areas throughout my retail career (recruiting, performance management, employee relations, employee engagement), since landing my current role, that exposure has increased dramatically. My goal is to continue growing in this field to one day become a Head (Director) over one of our core HR functional areas. 

I’ve completed minimal information technology coursework, including a computer literacy course, as well as human resource technology management. In addition to these technology courses, I have completed several other courses where the use of technology was not only prevalent but also necessary. I enjoyed learning about foundational computer and digital literacy concepts, as well as gaining essential knowledge about new technologies, their current and possible future impacts, and how they continue to be adopted into more industries. 

I look forward to taking a deeper dive into the world of information technology. As an HR professional, seeing increased automation and technologically-driven resources and processes implemented in the field, I want to ensure I am doing my due diligence in staying up-to-date with the most modern, relevant, and applicable technological advancements in support of my professional career.
